Letter-Writing Campaign

Few methods of communication carry as much weight as a personal letter. It shows that you truly care about an issue in order to sit down, think it through, present your position, then take the additional time to address it, stamp it, and put in the mail. By the time it reaches its destination it is buzzing with the energy of your intention, and grabs the attention of its intended recipient immediately. With today’s glut of pre-addressed mass mailings, it is difficult to ignore a personal letter. So please take a moment right now to support April Kermani in this way.

Some suggestions for your letter:

  • Personally write a copy of your letter to the person to whom it is intended;
  • Share a personal experience with April;
  • Point out the limited options available for midwife-assisted hospital births;
  • Describe the importance of midwives to women;
  • St. Rose was one of the only hospitals who offered midwife services - tell them how it would benefit them to continue to offer these services.

Style considerations:

  • Be concise. Keep it to 250 words or less.
  • Be polite and professional. Keep it as positive as possible.
  • Use clean, readable formatting. Emails should be plain text and flush left, without attachments. Printed letters should include your signature above your typed name.

Print out copies of your letter, add your signature, and send them to the following individuals:
