I had a fantastic time at the Midwifery Today conference in Eugene, OR. It was held March 13-15, and I went up with a couple of midwife friends from Las Vegas for the pre-conference. It was wonderful to be back in Oregon after a long stint in the desert. We moved from Portland to Las Vegas in 2003, and we really miss the Pacific Northwest.
The conference was filled with the biggest names in the birthing community; Jan Tritten of Midwifery Today, Gloria Lemay, Gail Hart, Ina May Gaskin, Anne Frye, Micheal Odent, Carol Leonard. I know I’m leaving people out, so I apologize.
I co-presented a class on placenta and its use for postpartum recovery. My co-presenter was Patricia Couch, a midwife and Placenta Encapsulation Specialist in Oregon. I got a lot of good feedback on the class, and had a wonderful time sharing the information. We are putting some finishing touches on the PowerPoint presentation and will make it available online.
